Lotus Domino Shared
Our
IBM Lotus Domino 7 "Shared Servers" are also often referred to
as "Virtual Servers". These servers are designed for database
development and testing, and for light production hosting. These servers
are not designed for full fledged production applications, in reality no
shared package from any hosting provider is.
You share the Lotus Domino server with a number of other customers (only
30 customers per server). You do not have access to the Domino Directory
and you have no administrative rights in the server document. You can run
restricted agents, but unrestricted agents are never allowed due to security
concerns.
Shared packages are the most economical, but also offer you the least direct
control over your environment. Shared servers are not inherently designed
for production applications and should only be used for design and testing.
We realize that some customers will choose to run their production applications
and websites on a shared server due to the cost, and they will be fairly
successful in doing this. However, customers will find that our Lotus Domino
Partitioned environments have
much better stability, reliability and performance.

Maintenance & Monitoring 24*7*365
We will of course maintain the hardware, the base operating system and the Domino Installation. Like our other hosting packages we will administer the databases and e-mail system as per request. Maintaining backups of your data (any Hankos.net backup made for internal purposes is not archived unless you subscribe to one of our backup services). We will monitor ports 80 (HTTP) and 1352 (Notes) at no additional charge to you. Our management and monitoring software will actually restart your server most of the time in the event of a crash, without the need for human intervention. Even so, we'll still be notified via e-mail and eventually pager if your server is down for any extended period of time. Assistance in determining the cause of the crash will be billed at our standard support rate.
